Platinum Rule

I could not get this out of my mind after reading about Platinum Rule.

And I have used the Golden Rule in one of my first articles Quality at Work and now I think I will have to revise this article.

Second Chance

Are there times in your life when you think if you had a second chance, you will do things differently? Many of our decisions in life are taken under certain limitations or constraints like time and money.

What will you do if you had a chance and no constraints?

I was noticing one of my neighbors who was rebuilding his house. Since this is his second chance, he was trying to get everything the way he wants. He was particular about the color of everything in new house. He was not in a hurry to complete it by a particular time. This made me reflect on this aspect of how we may make some compromises and regret that we have not done it right.

It may happen regarding many things like your career, your education, your relationships, your house, your projects at work etc. where made some compromises. You may feel trapped and think about things you will fix when you get a second chance. Make a list so that you can really implement them when you get a second chance.

Now comes the hard part:

Can you get it right the first time ignoring the constraints? Can you influence factors that are effecting your ability to get it right first time?

Time for important things

The ego will always insist that it needs more time. But if your intention to evolve, to become enlightened, is more important to you than anything else, you won’t need time. If there is integrity in your spiritual aspirations, you will be ready now. Good intentions for the future only flatter the ego. When you’re serious, the time is always now. Unless you intend to do it now, you won’t do it. Evolutionary Enlightenment—which is the experience of consciousness beyond ego in a developmental context—only emerges when now is the only time that means anything to you.  – Andrew Cohen

When we want to do something, we will not find excuses. If you are unable to find time to do something, you will need think do you really, really, really want to do it? if yes, you will find time for it. The above quote I received recently states it so clearly that I decided to reproduce it as it is.

Opportunities to Experience

Quote from ‘Evan Almighty’ movie:

When you pray to God to give you patience, He does not give you patience but gives you opportunities to be patient. When you pray for Love He will give you opportunities to Love.

Nice quote.  Next time you think God is not giving you what you wanted, reflect on this thoiught.
